Proof that I should keep my day job - if I had one.
First, some important advisories:
* Do not appear on live television if you stayed up working on your Hurricane Katrina Direct Relief blog until 3:30am the previous night.
* Take a shower before you leave the house. When you view this video, you will observe that dirty, oily hair is highly visible on air.
* If you're hauling ass at 100 mph on Highway 280 on your way to the TV studio in San Francisco, your husband will get a speeding ticket and he will be pissed. At you. Big time.
Dear Reader, here you go, follow the links to my interview with Henry Tenenbaum at KRON-TV this morning.
And, guess what? The humiliation continues: The TV folks had me stick around for a taped interview. This will be on the KRON TV news this evening.
Back to the hurricane blog and to sign myself up for Extreme Makeover.
You rocked, girl. What wonderful work you are doing. I hope to be able to say that to your face one day.

I think you looked great and you did an awesome job. Way to go, Grace (and Victoria).

I think you're to be commended! It was great to put a voice to the blog. I could tell you were nervous but dirty hair never entered my consciousness. It was all about the good deeds you're (all) doing and all the people that are going to benefit. I've got a box ready to go as soon as it's Monday.
This is the sort of help that needs doing, not the uber-patriotic songs and schmaltz that seem to go hand in hand with wars and natural disasters.
Bravo!!!

You look great, Grace. And I thought you were very poised. Well done.

You are SO getting linked (again) for this. You two ROCK. Seriously. Big time.

You were just great! Your hair looked fine, honest. You *and* Vicotria were so eloquent and smart. And I love how you beamed when Victoria said "I'm a mom too, like Grace..." You done all us mommy bloggers so, so proud.

Jeez I go away for a bit and now you're saving the planet?
Wow I've missed a lot.

No, Grace, you look terrific in the video! I'm so proud of you!

You looked darling...and the perfect shoes. What else matters?
Posted by: beth | September 11, 2005 at 11:37 PM
Grace, babe, you rock! And if you don't like your hair, I'll trade with you... so quit it with the self-put-downs, already!
One woman and a truck - one woman and a laptop. You *both* f***ing rock!

Go Grace Go!! You look great. Just catching up on all the U.S. news and buzz in the blog world! As always you inspire me. xoxo, Jane

Grace,
I ordered gatorade and granola bars on netgrocer.com and had them shipped to an elementary school in Jackson. It is that easy! I didn't go to the store or box the items or take them to the post office, I did it all from my computer. Everyone, it really is that easy!
Thanks Grace!

Wonderfully done! I was so interested in what was being said, who noticed your hair? Not me.
Posted by: Theresa | September 12, 2005 at 05:32 AM
Y'all...I swear to God, I'm saying and writing "y'all",
Thanks for the bottom of my oddly shaped but well intentioned heart.
RE: video. Didn't I look like a big, badass mama who could totally kick my interviewer's butt? He was the nicest person on the planet, but the on air people? They are teeeny! I could have taken them all on in that newsroom.
Now that would have been great television.
xoxox

Oh! And! This is for Crystal -
Expectations of what my voice sounded like? Perhaps you were thinking Kathleen Turner? Susan Sarandon? Maybe Joan Rivers?
Posted by: GraceD | September 12, 2005 at 09:59 AM
Grace - voice - at least *you* don't get likened to Bea Arthur... ;-)
You did *great*!

What you had to say mattered much more than how you looked (but you looked fine!).
(My daughter took the list of shelters and supplies needed to her sorority meeting at SSU last night, and they are now busy bees.)

Grace! Woo-hoo! You were lovely as always, and hopefully your message will reach even more people.

Grace... i thought you looked beautiful! Mike is still convinced that Geraldo was interviewing you.... hehehheheh....
Netgrocer.com .... is an excellent way to send supplies.... thanks for the idea "impossiblejane" !!!!!

Grace is a TV Star!
I wish I had been in town to see it live but it was terrific.
Speaking of the piece you were interviewed for, that's now up and available on TBAiT.

Grace, more sincere praise from another person who is so happy to know you!! If I were interviewed on tv, I'd have barfed on the guy's shoes or something, so I'm completely impressed.

Hot Gracie, very hot! Why, you could cut ham deli-thin sliced with those cheekbones!
And angels want to steal those red shoes.
I'm so proud that you're my friend!
