Hope is What I Have Left
Since I last posted with that merry picture of the kids at breakfast, I proceeded to endure a pretty shitty week. I was sick with asthma and allergies. These flare-ups were accompanied by a bout of menopausal exhaustion and a little but nonetheless trying episode of menopausal depression. All that was topped off with a case of menopausal lack of libido and that's all I'll say about that.
Then! Then! Then! The fall of Lehman, Merrell Lynch and AGI, causing our friends on fixed retirement incomes uneasy and queasy.
And, did I mention that my Good-Ex and Molly's Dad was admitted to the hospital early yesterday morning for pneumonia and possible lung clots? That scared my girl - and certainly the rest of us who love and respect her dad - right down to the core of her being. Bearing witness to your kid's utter pain and fright is the hardest thing in the world because you can't do anything about it other than offer deep solace and long hugs. You just stand-by and make sure you have plenty of snacks and love available and urge her to go out with her friends.
Bad, bad week. Yet, we have these signs of hope:
Sarah Palin as Bright and Shiny Thing is losing her fake luster.
McCain is clearly confused about pretty much every issue on the national and global landscape.
Thus, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are ahead in the polls once again.
And, Molly's Dad will get better because he's from South Dakota and those folks are tough, tough, tough.
And, we will get our sexy mojo back. YES WE CAN.
Hang in there, dollins. I'll hang in there with you.

I feel as if I should send you some Claritea with extra grace. Just for you. In fact, I'll just do that. Because I can.
In the meantime, I'm sending all of you, Molly, Molly's dad, you, George and Malcolm, the best and brightest healing light and love I can muster from the high altitudes of Utah.
Love and more.

I am sorry to hear about your week of suckage. Maybe your sexy mojo is hiding out wherever mine has been for long, looooooooooong time?
Thank all that is good that people are starting tire of Palin.

Sending good vibes your way and Molly's dad's way from down south. Things will be looking up soon, m'dear. Eat chocolate and allow yourself time to mope -- and suddenly there will be sunshine! xoxoxo

Feel better soon! Remember! Your #1 Canadian fan (c'est moi) loves you!
And! My eyes are rattling around in my head. From the elections. Between my own country and yours I'm rattlier than a rattle snakes tail in the most high pitched dollar store baby rattle on the market.

Oh I hope you continue to feel better and my best wishes to Molly's dad for a full and quick recovery! I have to believe that people will look beyond the exterior and not just vite for a pretty face! Hugs to you all,

My good thoughts are coming your way...it's time for some healing!
I'm co-hosting a BBQ for the Obama/Biden campaign this weekend. A little fundraising, but a lot of messaging and informing people about what they can do to have the greatest impact on the outcome (key states that need phone calls etc). There is a handy dandy little campaign office right here in the SC (San Carlos) and we are FIRED UP!

I surely hope she's losing her luster. I'm in Portland and sometimes I wonder if we're just insulated from what middle America conservatives think. And that scares me.

Sounds like a shitty week. I'm sorry. But your list of Signs-of-Hope is promising! My very best to all of you!
